ww: happy halloween!

Isn't this the most adorable pumpkin you've ever seen?!?!? When I came across a pin on pinterest for Disney character jack-o-lanterns I knew I had to do one for Matthew's favorite show; Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

You see, Im somewhat of a pumpkin carving queen over here in my neck of the woods (no i dont literally live in the woods, just an expression) With Halloween being my second favorite holiday, Ive been known to go a little overboard with my jack-o-lanterns (and costumes lol). This was last years:

But you see, no one tells you that the whole pumpkin carving process completely changes when you have a kid. Even one who cant even carve their own pumpkin yet! Im used to gathering with friends, having a few glasses of wine, and carving my lil heart away. Well lets recap on what happened this year.

• missed our friends pumpkin carving get-together on Monday night because it interfered with Matthews bath & bedtime
• tried to do it last minute last night with just me and hubs but Matthew decided he didnt want to just hangout and watch us carve, he would rather scream the entire time
• hubby knew how badly I wanted to carve my pumpkin, so even though the first Heat game was on last night, hubs did matthews whole nighttime routine (feed, breathing treatment, rock, sleep) without me.
• which means I carved my pumpkin by myself and hubs now has a hallowed out pumpkin,  which i doubt hopefully he'll be able to carve tonight before we go trick-or-treating

If you've been a long time follower (thank you!) then you might have noticed my blog gradually getting a face lift (if youre new here then welcome!). Ive updated my header (look up) and also my intros (look left <-----) and also my about me page. Ive decided that I want to build my blog into something more. I want to connect with new moms, new wives, and hell even veteran ones! (although I may not be able to relate to you as well lol) ;)

If you knew me (and my sis and mom) in real life, then you would know that we are definitely considered gossipers social butterflies.  So why not be a social butterfly in the blog world?!?

WW: time for some change

I guess since I dragged this thing all the way from our laundry room to our living room, that means I actually have to start using it

Ive actually always wanted an elliptical and when a close friend of mine had to get rid of hers this summer when they moved across country for her husbands job, I couldnt resist snatching it from her. Unfortunately I was also 8 months pregnant at the time and exercise just wasnt one of my to-dos (i know it should have been, but whatevs).
Needless to say, this thing has been collecting dust in our laundry room since then. Ive been  meaning to take it out but have also been using the excuse that we just dont have room for it in the house. Which technically still hasnt changed, but I need to stop making excuses for not exercising and start to try to get back to my pre-baby weight. Breastfeeding did help alot, I lost 44 of the 52lbs I gained during my pregnancy. But that still means I have 8lbs+ to go. I add the plus sign in there because I really wasnt happy with my prepregnancy weight in the first place.
So heres to you post-baby exercise! Lets see how long this lasts?

Wordless{ish} Wednesday | Before and After

Let me just say, I want to thank those of you who helped me make a decision from this post. It was greatly appreciated as you all know Im very indecisive. Seems like you all agree with me keeping my hair somewhat on the longer side. And glad to know you also prefer my natural color too!

So I've decided to link up with sweet Katie and show you my before & after haircut pics. Please dont mind the background, as it was a car photoshoot taken by yours truly ;)

Im totally lovin' it! Although I do feel lost without those 3 inches of hair. But I love that I can just go in and tell my stylist "Umm, Im thinking a shade darker, just to keep it vibrant, and maybe a few inches to keep it healthy" and this is what I get. I guess thats why I keep going back to her. I swear no matter what I tell her to do with my hair, I always love it. Although, I hate that it always looks so much better when she blowdries it! anyone else have this problem? I just cant seem to figure out how to make the flip with the ends?!?! Ive tried buying one of those really big round brushes but my arms just get in the way when blow drying and it never comes out right!

Oh yeah, and it looks like it might be a tad redder now. I think after a couple of washes the darkness has turned to red. I still love it though.
